Summer Fruit Greek Yogurt Tart

How does everybody feel about the idea of breakfast pie? Or, I guess this is a tart, really. I spent this weekend working my v hardest to empty out my fridge of all the goodies that Danny brought home from the farmer's market, yet had no plans for. Peaches that bruised before my eyes and way too many berries--all very good things, but tough to make last, you know?

Sukiyaki Soba

It's been a normal week of work, work, work. Luckily, I love work! Do I talk about it much? I work for a foodtech startup here in New York City called Chicory. We developed the technology to make recipes shoppable--see that lil button beneath the list of ingredients on my site (and on Food & Wine and on 800+ other sites you've probably browser)? That's us!

Lebanese Chicken Wraps

HAY! Ok, I'm scrambling to write this during commercial breaks of The Bachelorette. My Chromecast is broken and Dan needs quiet in the living room, so I'm on my laptop and there's a commercial for some show about 90s pop stars singing karaoke or something..? Eek, back in a sec. Commercials are over. (C'mon James Taylor, make some moooves!)

Ube Gooey Butter Cake

I'm writing to you, dear readers, from 2 inches from my air conditioner. New York City remains the temperature of a flippin Fourth of July hot dog. We're talking like 90 plus degrees. Oof. Mama is ready for Christmas. And for the days when turning on the oven to bake doesn't sound like the worst idea of my life.

Sour Cherry Cobbler

Happy weekend o' the Fourth! I've been busy as heck with summery things like beach plans and time at the dog park. Yesterday was the sunniest, most beautiful day so Danny and I took the doggies on a long walk through Queens. Jelly, in true labrador fashion, found a huge fountain in front of the Queens courthouse and hopped in for a swim. Still kicking myself that I didn't capture that on camera.

Braised Short Ribs with Creamy Polenta

I'm back, baby! Unfortunately I had to take a break from blogging for the past few weeks because of some family happenings. We lost my beloved grandfather a couple weeks ago; he was 84-years-old. As sad as it was to lose him, those events always have a weird bright side. He's at peace after a tough sickness, plus I got to reconnect with lots of family and learn things about my grandfather I hadn't known before.

Mini Cardamom Blackberry Pavlovas

I'm hoooome! This month was a whirlwind of travel that went out with a bang, meaning drunken karaoke on Friday night that had me completely bedridden all day on Saturday. But I enjoyed every second of not having to go anywhere; you forget what a homebody you are until you've spent three weeks not sitting on your couch watching the same Gilmore Girls episode for the zillionth time.

Cheesy Stuffed Meatballs

I rolled back into NYC at around 6AM this morning after a few days in Salt Lake City for the Everything Food Conference. It was a super fun time where I got to talk blogging, try out new coffee shops, sing karaoke with friends (remember this song!?!?! I hadn't, but I'm so happy I've been reminded.), learn about SLC's fascinating liquor laws ~~from the inside~~, and watched the entire city of Salt Lake lose power from the window of our Airbnb meaning Yuni and I needed to finish our game of Battleship by candlelight. He kicked my butt.

Eggplant Parmesan with Hard-Boiled Eggs

I returned late last night from a loverly trip to Nashville. I spent lots of fun time with my mamma, uncle, aunt, and beloved cousins. Aside from the family mumbo jumbo, though, I also ate deeeelicious things like HOT CHICKEN and biscuits and, kind of surprisingly, a really tasty kimchi salad? More on that at a later date.

Baechu Kimchi

I feel ill equipped to talk about kimchi all that authoritatively. When I ask Dan about details almost all of his factoids turn into (enchanting) stories about his grandmother, a poor farmer in rural Korea who was on her own since her early teens. Without a real home, the only thing she cherished and carried with her as she moved around was a massive clay kimchi jar.

Kimbap (Korean Lunch Rolls)

Hellooo everyone! Happy Cinco de Mayo. I didn't really celebrate other than to eat lots of guacamole on my couch, but I think that was less celebration, more just stress eating about the Donald Trump mess. Also, I stayed at work until nearly 10PM last night. I didn't mind (happily I have a v wonderful job that's more fun than it is foe), but I was in serious need of talking-to-no-one-and-eating-corn-chips time.
